Amateur Singing Competition Details

FORMAT AT A GLANCE

A single-night, no-elimination singing competition open to amateur vocalists. All registered contestants perform back-to-back within at he program window. The flow is designed around a maximum of 8 contestants at 3–4 minutes each. A panel of judges scores each performance live, and three winners are announced at the end of the evening based on cumulative scores — no rounds, no eliminations.

AUDITION & REGISTRATION PROCESS

Submit a short video recording of yourself singing (1 to 2 minutes, any song). The video must show your face clearly and capture your voice without heavy post-processing filters.

1. Record a 60–90 second clip on any device. Good audio quality is a must — avoid excessive background noise.

2. Upload to Google Drive, YouTube (unlisted), or any shareable link and copy the URL.

3. Fill out the registration form with your name, contact number, song choice for the competition, and paste your audition video link.

4. Submit your minus-one (MP3 or WAV) as an attachment or separate file link in the same form.

5. Wait for a confirmation message within 48 hours. Accepted contestants receive a slot number and call time.

Registration deadline: at least 1 month before competition night. Minus-one tracks must be submitted no later than 15 days before the event to allow sound checks.

JUDGING CRITERIA

No live instruments are permitted on stage. Each contestant must submit their minus-one (instrumental backing track) in advance. The organizer provides all sound and microphone equipment. Contestants need only arrive and sing.

TECHNICAL SET-UP

• VOCAL QUALITY 30%: Tone, pitch accuracy, breath control, resonance, and consistency across the full range of the song.

• MUSICALITY AND EXPRESSION 30% : Rhythm, phrasing, dynamics, and emotional interpretation. Includes appropriate use of pauses, swells, and nuance.

• STAGE PRESENCE 30% : Confidence, body language, eye contact, and connection with the audience. Presence is about engagement and ownership of the stage.

• AUDIENCE IMPACT 10% : A holistic impression that accounts for memorable moments, originality in interpretation, and the lasting impression left on judges after the performance ends.
